Switzerland : family, friends, wedding, babies, lake, walks, parties... and food!!!

A l'aise!

So… It’s time to end up the chapter of the latest trip as the new one is gonna start tonight! Already. Those months just went like that, I didn’t see anything.

After 18 months on the road, it was time to come back home, budget has a limit… I felt a bit of an apprehension to change my traveler rhythm to a swiss one. There will be a gap for sure…

Flying hours between Delhi and Geneva were spent with a bit of sleep and a look at “Slumdog Millionaire” (which I really enjoyed and already promised myself to watch again if I was feeling ‘homesick’. Didn’t need it). Finally I found again the rightness, the cleanliness and the mortified quietness of the austere hallways (are they in marble?) of Geneva-Cointrin. The advertisements of luxurious brands subjugate me : What a display, it is almost indecent, another world! The hurried pace of businessmen, murmuring at their mobile some offers which seem to be attractive, resonates in this emptiness. I have got the feeling to be in an impersonal universe. This time, it seems that the movie is happening here. I am fascinated but don’t show it. On the contrary, I behave like if all this was normal.

Then I show my red one with white cross to the customs who looks tired and catch sight of my nephews, my sister and Mum. I see their sweet faces behind the window, hands are moving about and smiles are saying a lot. Waouh, they grew up so much! Mum is fully touched.

When finally I get out, the trolley overflooded of colored bags, it s an explosion of hugs which welcomes me! It is soooo nice and I notice that my contact with the kids stayed as it was. Kids are easy going. I adored when while wishing good night to the elder one he said to me with that total serious look and after having smelling my neck : “You smell like before”

No, I didn’t change even though, a little bit I would say.

But it is still cold in this beginning of March and I feel that I will need some time to land. I don’t go out for 2 days. First because it is dam cold but I sense as well a need to ‘recover’, to put myself back together before I confront myself to the outside world, this other reality. I live like in a cocoon at my sister’s place for 2 days.

Quickly nevertheless, I am back into swiss dynamic. This is my strength and I know it. Adaptable super quickly, here or over there and that is why it is working so well.

I work already the following week, book loads of rendez-vous to see my friends, make a party for my return. It is gonna be the occasion for a culinary orgy, between my cousin’s chocolate mousses and the Mum’s garlicky tzatziki… our stomacks were more than fulfilled. It would be even righter to say that I was swelled like never!

Luckily we were at Eve’s place and it is in tracksuit and socks that we finished on the ‘dancefloor’ pretty late the following morning. Easy! Thank you again dearest!

Yeah, that’s it, I spent my first weeks celebrating the FF&F : Family, Friends & Food! Whatever food I didn’t taste for ages seems to be totally marvelous. The texture of Gruyeres, flavour and taste of chocolate, the simple but so good bread with butter, real one, not salted, not suggerish, just creamy butter taste…This is so good!!!

I will stay 6 months and gain one kg per month, Sonita is as regular as a clockwork
Eat, eat, eat and only the best of course

Otherwise, it is great to see everyone one after the other. I realize that all my friends are characters. I am dazzled by the diversity of their life stories since I left. Well there is a lot to catch up! Some got married, some became mothers, some others changed their job, discovered a spiritual path, it is fascinating!

Everyone in his kind is a passionate human being. It is so rich!!!

I organize clothes selling, work at the school for multi disabled kids, at the taproom owned by a friend and finally in a place where physically disabled adults are living. I go to France and Belgium to visit some traveler friends.

Well, I fully enjoy my time in Europ!

I live at Daniele’s place, incredible friend who hosts me the time of my stay. We were already roommates a few years ago and everything is smooth here too. Plus Daniele has started to study tarot and I get a draw regularly. My friends, even the cards are telling it : I am surfing on the wave!

And while I am away, Chapati, my lovely cat is living here too. At first, she seems to be fully questioning my sudden invasion into her space. Then quickly nevertheless, the crazy smells coming from far away are taking all of her, her curiosity is totally attracted and it will take a little while until she’s done with the inspection of my scattered jumble and before she lets me pet her. She will be cool and wont be angry at me for having disappearing for months. I know she recognized me. I find her as she was when I left, well a few more kgs she gained or is it the contrast with the rare Indian cats which are definitely a lot skinnier next to her.

You understand it well, everything is all right back here. And I spend months like an ant, saving money for my next trip. September at latest.

I realize that here I function but it took me at least 2 months to land totally, to not be surprised by some scenes which made me react at first. Like this time I went to Geneva by train, 10 days after my arrival. I was totally amazed by people’s behavior in the car. The only persons who were actually talking were doing it on their phones. The other ones were still holding it but were sending messages or even playing. Nobody seemed to be any interested by his neighbor, the only possible exchanges where an ‘excuse me’.

Never I say it never this could be possible in India. There will be inevitably some animation, music, some who will engender spontaneously some conversation, others who will grab the neighbor’s kid to tickle him, well… a sharing!

So between Lausanne and Geneva, 2nd class, no, this is just not even conceivable. And after a few months spent here, I do understand it. It isn’t with this frenzied rhythm of life that you are available to meet the unknown while coming back home after an exhausting day of work.
And that is exactly what I am afraid of and do not attract me. Live in a world which would alien me to a point that I would be close to the other, his meeting, his world, his life…

So I focused my mind in enjoying what is good here the FF&F and the earned money, with its significant value over there.

Peacelovebliss and see you next time in Istanbul.

After thinking of study in India, then work there, here am I spending my summer conceiving all kind of possible itinaries for my new trip : Turkey, Pakistan, Mongolia, Tibet, India of course, everything is crossing my mind.

And a beautiful day, I book a single ticket for Istanbul.

Then without even noticing it, days are passing by and here am I leaving in one week. I store my bags in the garage, deal with the paper work, buy the last needs, start to see my friends to say goodbye, try to explain to my nephews why I am off again. And suddenly I wonder why in fact. I would like to sometimes be like ‘everybody’, it would be much more easier because to let it go is every time really hard to deal with. I don’t get use to it even though I know that as soon as I will be seated in the plane, I would never change my place for something else, all excited I would be to go on this new adventure.

The faithful bag pack is now out, my chosen stuff for the following months, scattered around it. I will do a first filling which will be of course too heavy. I will need again to take out a dress here or another superficiality there to try to make it lighter. No more than 10kgs. It’s gonna be hard… And am I gonna take the tent (then for sure I will be over 10kgs) and this tunique… Very hard to make the right bag pack with only the essential. I never get to that point, there is always something missing and I do always carry stuff I will never use. Even though after all those years… I tell you, it is really hard to make to right bag…

There it is, a last night with friends, laughing a lot.

It is now time to let you and to wish you all to spend loads of beautiful moments and thank you to BE.

Peacelovebliss and see you next time in Istanbul.
